Workshops/Community Music

Tom: "Yeah – what does it feel like to in music? What do you get from music?"

Joe: "It feels so catchy and vibey…"

Tom: "Nice!"

Joe: "… Vibey. Funny. – maybe I don’t know how to explain it, but it's an amazing thing to me because it just makes me feel better – like sometimes it just makes me go happy and hype up."

Joe is a workshop participant and long time collaborator of Central Hob. We worked together over the course of several projects - for more information on this collaboration, click here.

Listen to Joe discussing his experiences of group musicking and the compositional process of his track "Strawberry Jam in the Sky" in the interview above.

Extract from the interview:

At Central Hob, we recognise the life-changing impact that accessible, high quality music education has on peoples' lives.

It brings us immense joy be be able to facilitate this through the projects we lead and our partnerships with arts organisations and charities.

Our community music lead, Tom Culling, specialises in group devising, composition and music technology, and we have led projects in this vein with a wide variety of social groups.

Due to the widely varied skillset of our team, we are able to cater to the access needs and musical interests of a range of participants, regardless of their musical background and level of prior experience.
